More Success for Local Karate Club
Nine students from the Chikara Dojo, based in Spennymoor took part in the British Kyokushin Cup, Open Full Contact Karate Championships in Glasgow recently. From the nine who competed, six returned home triumphant.

In the boys 10-11 year old category Jack Walker gained a second place. In the boys under 16 year old category Ben Bartle came third.
In the men’s lightweight novice category Kyle Corner placed third and in the men’s lightweight category, Rainen Harper came third and his brother Aidan came second. In the men’s veteran’s category Lee O’Neill came second.
“It’s always great to see our students do so well at competitions - it’s fantastic to see their hard work and dedication pay off and it gives me a great sense of pride, knowing that the teaching at our club has helped them, commented Chief Instructor, Adam Walker.
Instructors at the Chikara Dojo of Kyokushin Karate have been teaching full contact karate for the past 23 years and members always attend as many competitions as possible. They have travelled to many different countries to compete, including France, Greece, America, Spain and Japan.
The club offers lessons to students from 5 years old and has a reputation for being a hub for discipline, hard work, dedication and respect.
